Regatta Recap: Offshore Edition

The Chicago to Mackinac 333-mile offshore race is the largest freshwater race the world has seen. Sailing on the Great Lakes is full of surprises, the Great Lakes show no mercy. This year, what was thought to be a light-air race resulted in boat carnage: broken rigs, booms, collisions on the line. Boats saw all conditions you could imagine and saw every sail in the inventory – all the toys were used!

Winner Winner Winner!

Over 20+ youth sailors signed up for the “first blockhead to the island contest.” It’s become a tradition here at Harken, and gets the competitive juices flowing in our community. It’s just what it sounds like: first to the island…WINS! On behalf of the owners of Harken, Congratulations to Megan, who raced on Dakota — finishing first to the island!
