What is Harken Blockheads?

Started in 2017 by Harken USA, Blockheads is a web-based youth sailing fan club. The mission of Blockheads is to equip the next generation with the knowledge and skills to be more confident and self-sufficient so they bond with sailing more deeply.

How does my child get involved?

If they are under 25, youth sailors may join the free program here. New members will receive their Blockheads membership kit in the mail.

The Blockheads program is expanding to new countries, but may not yet be available in yours. Please check if your country is currently enrolling Blockheads members by looking at the drop-down country selector on the Blockheads Join page.

To enroll a child under 13, you will need to download and return the parental consent form. Instructions for doing this are included on the form.

Are there any costs associated with being a Harken Blockhead?

There is no cost to join the Blockhead program.

Please note, however, that we regularly promote Blockheads branded gear and other items that may be available for purchase. Blockheads must be 18 years or older to shop online.

What content is available for Blockheads?

Videos and articles produced by Harken and our partners are published weekly on this site and the Blockheads social media channels. Topics include rigging, tuning, hardware, maintenance, and boat preparation.

Members receive the monthly Blockheads Bulletin e-newsletter to stay up to date with the newest web and social content.

We are working with our partners to launch new events and activities, and can always use your help! Please reach out here with ideas, requests, comments, or concerns.

What safeguards are in place to protect confidential information?

Members' confidential information is housed on Harken's server and shared with no one else. It is only used for program management, such as mailing materials and emails. We will never share your information with a 3rd party without asking your permission.
