If you’re heading to the Hempel Youth Sailing World Championship in Gdynia, Poland, from 13-20 July, head on over to the Blockheads trailer and become one of us!
Blockheads is a free youth sailing program started by Harken that helps even expert sailors with new tools, skills. You will join more than 1,300 young sailors from eight countries. Blockheads teaches maintenance and repair skills that can help you be more self-sufficient.
Harken is sharing the trailer with the sailing shop Sailovnia, which can provide sailors with technical support and Harken gear they need. Sailovnia’s trailer is located in Gdynia marina.
You will also find Harken hardware and Harken Blockheads membership kits at the LaserPol trailer located in the sailing village in the vicinity of Laser parking slots.
The Youth Sailing World Championship attracts the best youth sailors from around the world and competition is notoriously tough as competitors are selected by their Member National Authority (MNA) from the top sailors within each nation.
Past notable winners include American's Cup skippers Chris Dickson (NZL), Russell Coutts (NZL), Dean Barker (NZL); Olympic medalists Nathan Outteridge (AUS), Iain Jensen (AUS), Robert Scheidt (BRA), Amelie Lux (GER), Ben Ainslie (GBR), Iain Percy (GBR), Alessandra Sensini (ITA), Elise Rechichi (AUS) and Tessa Parkinson (AUS); Volvo Ocean Race sailors like Stuart Bannatyne (NZL) and Richard Clarke (CAN).
